CONTENT
What can you expect from the fourth issue of the Notes? The layout of the Notes has been modified once more. The Notes now come with a navigation feature, facilitating the access to the various sections. The event calendar section has been amended with detailed conference announcements and a new text element - the Key Note - has been added to the Notes.

Having the significant troubles associated with the most recent financial crisis in mind, this fourth issue is mainly dedicated to the economic aspects of water and addresses aspects like water tariffs and their impact on the poor, sustainable towns infrastructure planning as well as a Key Note about water indexing. Primary intention is to keep the readership of the Notes up-to-date about water management related aspects, motivate in-depth reflections and stipulate comprehensive debates about the above mentioned (and related) aspects. Accordingly, you may read contributions from

- American Bar Association
- Ceres
- Sustainable | Water | Management | Group
- The Journal of Industrial Ecology
- and many more

In addition you may find an updated event calendar as well as further information about the Sustainable | Water | Management | Group.

REVIEW
As the year approaches its end soon a brief review over the past months may be compiled here. Established early in 2010 as a simple discussion group on LinkedIN (currently > 230 registered members) the
Sustainable | Water | Management | Group has been subject to a continuous and a rather rapid development (having in mind that sustainable water management still represents a niche issue...). For instance, nowadays the group is prominently represented among the top 20 of all "water management" related groups on LinkedIN and it is google-indexed. From a content perspective the platform today comprises a continuously updated blog (currently under preparation for additional audio and video news broadcasting), the Quarterly Notes and a wide range of personal contacts.

From its self-conception the
Sustainable | Water | Management | Group represents an independent information platform providing (but not only) most recent information with regard to sustainable water management and related topics. The platform strives to be among the best informed platforms in the field of sustainable water management and is intended to assist decision makers from industry, science, government and the broad public with robust and reliable first hand information. Presently, it comprises interested stakeholders from all over the world mainly from the USA, Australia/Asia, Arabia and Europe (read more about it in the Quarterly Notes on Sustainable Water Management - Q04/2010) and accross all sectors: science, industry (small, medium, big), governmental, non-governmental organisations, etc.

OUTLOOK
Following the rapid growth of the platform (in terms of members and content) in the first year since its establishment a phase of consolidation is planned. The platform team is planned be re-organised and strengthened man-power and service portfolio. In addition (depending upon the further development) it is intended to further professionalise the web-site of the platform and the related services. You will be kept informed about the next steps.
