Heavy snowfall after "Egon" in the Jura montains, Switzerland

Since the Thursday night (following the storm "Egon") some heavy snowfall began resulting in more than 20 cm snow coverage on average. In higher regions more than 50 cm of new snow were measured. However, the Jura mountains are not concerned with the danger of avalanches. Attention must be paid to wind slap the vicinity of rock edges. For the next days declining snowfall is predicted accompanied with dropping temperatures in the range of -12°C (minimum at night) and +/- 0°C (maximum at day). Cloudiness will decrease as well.
